Ahead of the release of his fourth *Bad Boys* movie this summer, Will Smith surprised fans at Coachella by reviving his iconic *Men in Black* character for a special performance. During J Balvin’s Sunday night set, themed around UFOs, Smith took the stage in full Agent J costume, joining Balvin, who was dressed in a shimmery, chrome, sci-fi outfit. As the crowd erupted, Smith launched into a live rendition of “Men in Black,” the hit song from the 1997 film, all while standing in front of a giant alien head.
The performance was a visual spectacle, with dancers dressed as Men in Black agents and aliens recreating the choreography from the original music video. The set concluded with a playful nod to the film, as Smith used a Neuralyzer prop to “flash” the crowd, mimicking the memory-wiping device from the movie. Balvin, who was briefly dragged offstage by the dancers, returned to finish his set with the song “In Da Ghetto.” Smith’s appearance at Coachella was a family affair, much like the book tour for Jada Pinkett Smith’s memoir *Worthy*. Jada and their son, Jaden, were in the audience, sharing videos on Instagram, while daughter Willow Smith also took to the stage, performing her song “Big Feelings” with Balvin.
